Albion train station will be rebuilt and upgraded to support future interchange demand in Brisbane’s inner north. The Queensland Government has developed the preliminary design for the New Albion Station Project, featuring improved accessibility with four new raised, straighter and wider platforms to accommodate increased passenger movements.
The project opens the door for the planned ‘Albion Exchange’ transit-oriented development, delivering housing, retail and commercial development in Albion focused around an integrated and accessible new rail-to-rail interchange station.
TMR engaged Bennett + Bennett to undertake a comprehensive 3D Ground and Feature Model (GFM) and BIM of Albion Station, the rail corridor and the surrounds. This required a multi-sensor capture approach involving, Aerial Laser Scanning (ALS), Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS), Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), photogrammetry, conventional ground surveying and underground service location.
Bennett + Bennett’s subsidiary, SiteDE provided Digital Engineering consulting and prepared and advanced existing conditions model that ensured seamless integration across design consultants and stakeholders.
