Grand Opening of Tweed Valley Hospital

We're thrilled to share that the $723m Tweed Valley Hospital is now open. Staff and approximately 150 patients were transferred from the old Tweed Hospital at Powell St Tweed Heads to the new state-of-the-art health facility at Kingscliff on May 14th 2024 in what has been described as the biggest whole hospital move in regional NSW history.

Our Role in the Project

Bennett + Bennett is proud to have played a crucial role in this monumental project, assisting with the construction of:

๐Ÿ”น11-storey main hospital building
๐Ÿ”น8-storey multi-deck car park
๐Ÿ”นHealth Hub buildings

Our journey with this project began in January 2021 and spanned 3 1/2 years, involving over 7500 staff hours. At the peak of construction, four of our dedicated team members were onsite full-time, collaborating closely with Lendlease, ADCO Constructions, and 17 other trade sub-contractors to bring this project to life.

We are immensely proud of our team's hard work and dedication and can't wait to see the positive impact this facility will have on the community.

The new Tweed Valley Hospital provides:

๐Ÿ”น More beds
๐Ÿ”น Expanded emergency department
๐Ÿ”น Enhanced medical, surgical, and mental health services
๐Ÿ”น Expanded outpatient services with more clinics
๐Ÿ”น New interventional cardiology service
๐Ÿ”น New radiotherapy service as part of integrated cancer care

This hospital will serve as a major referral centre at the heart of a network of hospitals and community health facilities across the Tweed-Byron region, including Murwillumbah District Hospital, Byron Central Hospital, and various community health facilities.

We are excited about the future and the enhancements this new hospital will bring to healthcare in our region.
