Ipswich City Council has shared an early draft of the new Ipswich planning scheme with the community, seeking feedback, concerns and suggestions. The scheme will guide and map the way land, buildings and structures are used and developed throughout the Ipswich area. Ipswich City Council launched a consultation period on the statement of proposals document (including the draft strategic framework) as part of Stage 1 of the Draft Ipswich Planning Scheme 2019.

Although not required by the Act, “council has made this decision to seek your views on the initial draft ‘statement of proposals’ as a demonstration of your council’s new approach to transparency and to help council officers prepare a better planning scheme.”

Now is your opportunity to view the statement of proposals and give your opinion on what you would like to see in your street, suburb, city or development in Ipswich. Your advice and input will guide the preparation of the detailed zoning and development code components of the new planning scheme across three broad levels: your city, your local area and your land.

All submissions must be formally received by Ipswich council no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, 28 June 2019.
