Close range aerial LiDAR / Laser Scanning provides a very dense and precise point cloud in comparison to manned aircraft / large scale LiDAR.
LiDAR provides the ability for laser pulses to penetrate vegetation to reach the ground surface (unlike photogrammetry reliant drones) which is ideal for terrain modelling.
Rapid mapping and processing speeds for fast turnaround on projects.
Integrated IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) sensors provide reduced ground control requirements.
LiDAR is not reliant on ambient light and therefore can be operated in low light or at night.
The Riegl sensor offers up to 5 echoes per pulse which increases the density of points defining the true ground surface through vegetation (unlike low-end LiDAR sensors).
