Bulimba Barracks follows in the footsteps of previous and current developments such as Brisbane Quarter & Wynnum Plaza where Bennett + Bennett have provided all surveying and laser scanning services.
Delivery of a full detail and level survey over the entire site has allowed accurate and detailed topographic information to be supplied to all consultants working on the detailed design. The 20 hectare site, excitingly positioned with an approximate 550m Brisbane River frontage in close proximity to the Brisbane city centre offers an amazing opportunity for Brisbane’s continual urban renaissance.
The site has amazing potential with the Master Plan providing a range of housing types, large expanses of open space, connectivity to the Brisbane River and also to celebrate the historical aspects of the site
The Bulimba Barracks has an amazing history largely based on its vital role in the history of the World War 2 effort in Queensland, especially in relation to the industries that supported the war activities during the actual war period. Key elements are the timber-framed large scale barge assembly workshops and warehouses. The site contains some historic significance to the local indigenous community and has historic heritage values which will be continually protected in accordance with the local and state heritage protection legislation.
The Shayher Group have an extensive history of delivering redevelopments in both Melbourne and Brisbane. An existing client of Bennett + Bennett, we are proud to be the surveyor for construction and unit titling for their current project known as “Brisbane Quarter” located at 300 George Street. Shayher Group have completed 2 of the 3 towers – the ‘W’ Hotel and the Commercial tower. The 3rd and last 82 storey residential tower ‘The One’ is nearing its full structural height.
