Aerial DTM survey & high resolution orthographic imagery of the famous Mt Panorama circuit.
Bennett + Bennett was engaged by V8 Supercars to undertake a comprehensive DTM survey of the entire motorsport precinct at the famous Mt Panorama circuit in Bathurst. Our Datapix B+B division was assigned the task to provide survey accurate high resolution orthographic imagery in conjunction with a feature detail survey of the motorsport precinct. Features included were permanent structures and buildings, racetrack, & road detail, fences and barriers and ground surface contours.
The event management team required updated survey data to assist both themselves and their engineers to accurately investigate further infrastructure and facilities upgrade options in and around the motorsport precinct. As the site consists of private residences and is for most of the year a public road, minimal disruption to the area was crucial. Our Photogrammetry and terrestrial survey teams were able to capture data for the entire precinct in a single day. It is the efficiency of this technology that gives the edge on these types of projects.
The high resolution survey accurate imagery will also allow the events and design teams the ability to zoom in (without loss of clarity) to easily identify any areas of detailed interest. The CAD deliverable with this as an underlay also helps to paint a comprehensive picture of exactly what is on the ground surface as well as overhanging trees or structures to identify possible clash detection.
