Bennett + Bennett are pleased to have been awarded works on the following projects:
Gold Coast Light Rail (Stage 3A), QLD
The 6-7km preferred extension runs down the centre of the Gold Coast Highway between Broadbeach South light rail station and Burleigh Heads with 7-8 stations similar in appearance to the current G:link stations. The final alignment has not yet been decided nor have the final station locations been identified.
Locals would have seen the first signs of activity recently with several teams working along the stretch to locate and identify underground services and map a reference alignment.

Brisbane Metro, QLD
“Brisbane Metro comprises a turn-up-and-go metro network across 21 kilometres of existing busway that links the Eight Mile Plains, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and University of Queensland (UQ) Lakes busway stations and all stations in between.
The alignment will feature two new high-frequency, high-capacity metro lines:
- Metro 1 – Eight Mile Plains busway station to Roma Street busway station
- Metro 2 – RBWH busway station to UQ Lakes busway station.
The project will introduce a new fleet of 60 metro vehicles, each with capacity for up to 150 people, that can use the busway alongside other bus services.
A new underground station for metro and bus services will be delivered at the Cultural Centre, Council has released a fly-through animation of the new underground station which is set to transform the city’s world-class cultural and entertainment precinct.
Some high-frequency bus routes will continue to operate on the busway, providing a network of suburbs-to-city services for residents across Brisbane. Other services will provide regular, frequent connections from the suburbs to high-frequency metro services at busway stations. Improvements such as off-board ticketing and all-door boarding will also help to improve journey times and reliability” (Source: Brisbane City Council)

Barneson Boulevard, NT
“Barneson Boulevard will provide a new entry point to Darwin’s CBD. This project will also complete the duplication of Tiger Brennan Drive from Dinah Beach Road to McMinn Street. This is a landmark project that will help unlock the potential of the city’s eastern end.
The new road will connect Tiger Brennan Drive directly with Cavenagh Street to more evenly distribute traffic throughout the CBD streets. The Boulevard will have a tropical, inner city urban feel and support economic development in Darwin CBD” (Source: NT Government – Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics)
